My new collection of original landscapes and florals is now available.
Today’s Treat! I started this collection, way back in June, with the long summer days and nights entering the studio and the exciting prospect of the next three months of painting. My goodness, what a summer it’s been here in the UK. A real gift of carpets of flowers bursting into bloom, mornings and evenings filled with absorbing ambles, walking east and west, along the shore on the poetic paths, and feeling thanks for these magic moments, as summer dances on. The sweet sweet petals have been popping up and catching my eye. They seem to be so proud of their blooms, leaping and prancing, with vivid colours packing a punch. I keep my brushwork expressive without becoming too refined, keeping it wild and carefree, like nature itself. I’m reflecting on echoing memories of the shapes and forms within the landscape, when the sky and land comes together, all at once, with the fading light. Oh, the gift of summer has been a total treat this year.
